The REDDOXX cluster function requires another appliance of the same or higher type.
The two appliances are connected to each other via a heartbeat link (direct LAN connection - cross link) and are kept data-synchronous in real time.
The active cluster node takes over the actual function of the REDDOXX appliance.
The passive cluster node monitors the active system. In case of a failure (e.g. power failure on the active appliance), the passive system takes over the active role in the system. The downtime is thus reduced to a few minutes. The function and status can be monitored in the Cluster Manager.
