Requirements Virtual

  • VMware vSphere (ESX from v. 7)
  • VMware Workstation (from v 10) (which is currently called VMware Workstation Pro)
  • CITRIX XEN Server (from Version 7.1)
  • Hyper-V (from Windows 2012)
  • KVM / Proxmox (Hard Disk with SCSI as Bus/Device and VirtIO SCSI as SCSI Controller)
  • Virtual Box
  • Microsoft Azure (requires the appliance to be installed on local hyper-v and then uploaded to your azure cloud, marketplace is not yet supported, but work is in progress)

The following table includes a list of recommended RAM depending on the amount of users.

Amount of Users Recommended RAM *
50 4 GB / 4096 MB
100 5 GB / 5120 MB
250 6 GB / 6144 MB
500 7 GB / 7168 MB
750 8 GB / 8192 MB
1000 9 GB / 9216 MB
1500 10 GB / 10240 MB
2500 12 GB / 12288 MB
5000 14 GB / 14336 MB
7500 18 GB / 18432 MB
15000 26 GB / 26624 MB

* The listed RAM is only a minimum requirement.
Depending on the amount of E-Mails, it is recommended to increase the RAM with another 2 GB / 2048 MB.
This is recommended, when for example the REDDOXX Appliance has to process many and / or huge E-Mails in a short time.

Following prerequisites need to be observed prior to the implementation of a new virtual appliance.
In case that the virtual appliance is setup as a secondary node in a cluster, you should read the cluster documentation first.
The documentation can be found here: Cluster Requirements.
